"Explore Your City" 5/29

This is truly a phrase we live by at "Loople". Part of the reason we decided to put all our effort into building this application is because we want to make it easier for others to find what interests them. The term "explore" means different things to different people. Some think it means to discover what others haven't or to venture into the unknown. Our founders at Loople can really relate to that seeing as though this was their first official jump into entrepreneurship. Just like our users, we will be exploring as much as possible this summer. We encourage everyone to get out of their comfort zones and start finding your favorite parts of Baltimore. This great city has so much to offer so our goal with "Explore Your City" posts will be to encourage everyone to get out and do something new. Throughout the summer we will do our best to constantly post great upcoming events, festivals, or other happenings in Baltimore. We hope these suggestions encourage you to find something to love about each and every neighborhood of Baltimore. Whether its a craft beer event at Max's in Fells Point, or "Honfest" in Hampden, pick something you've never done before and just go! Use your adventurous spirit to make this the best summer of your life!

Reach out with your own suggestions and we'll be sure to feature you in an article later in the summer.

The "Art" of the Start

5/22/2015

My whole life I've looked to learn as much as I can from mentors so it is no surprise that the title of this first blog post is from Guy Kawasaki, a famous Silicon-Valley entrepreneur.

My goal of "Baltimore Buzz" is to create a section of our website to pass on advice, share our mistakes, and most importantly, keep others in the loop with what our founders are experiencing as we venture into the abyss of entrepreneurship. This path is dimly lit because not many have gone before, much is unknown so every action is crucial, and it definitely takes someone a little crazy who is willing to explore far enough to see the success at the end.

All of my life, I have believed you need to find your strengths, focus on building them, and use them to accomplish your dreams. Here at Loople that is what I have been able to do for the past year and a half. I've always known I would own a business one day but I did underestimate everything that goes into the start.

Creating the idea, developing a logo, building a business plans, finding investors, finalizing the LLC, trademarking the idea, creating market strategies are all things that have consumed my free time while I maintained a full time job.

But today I take the ultimate risk. Today I leave a great paying job, secure workload, and steady career path in hopes to create something bigger then myself. They say that nothing worth accomplishing has ever come without risk and sacrifice.

Now as I'm on the edge, ready to take the plunge, I can tell you that this couldn't be more true.

I am hopeful for the future, I am scared of the unknown, I am passionate about my idea, and most importantly I am driven to accomplish this goal at all costs.
