Today is not just another Monday. Today, we raise our glasses and celebrate our favorite combination of tequila, triple sec and lime. Today, we celebrate National Margarita Day. No one knows for sure which genius gifted the world with this delicious concoction, but it is believed to be invented sometime in the late 1930’s or early 1940’s. The first known margarita recipe publication was in the December 1953 edition of Esquire magazine, where it was listed as the “drink of the month” and called for 1 ounce tequila, a dash of Triple Sec, and the juice of ½ lime or lemon.
